Too many of us are not instructed on the various ways in which we are able to prevent mold from infiltrating our homes. Before you can know what to do you should learn about the various types of mold, how to identify them, and what kind of health problems they pose to you and your family.
Penicillium
This is a type of allergenic mold that has the ability to induce many types of molds that can be found in homes. This particular type resides in food, soil, and food particles that are decaying. Other less common places you can find it in are dust particles and the air conditioning system. It is through the ventilation system that the spores are carried throughout the whole home.
Caldosporium
This mold is very powdery and can be identified by its black or dark green color. This will grow on dead plants, paint, food, and fiberglass air ducts. This has the ability to cause asthma, skin rashes, nail fungus, and pulmonary conditions.
Memnoniella
This is one of the more common types of house mold that may be seen on paper, cotton, and wood. This has the ability to produce harmful toxins that can harm both animals and humans.
Stachybotrys
This is a slimy, black mold that is commonly referred to as black mold and toxic mold. Wherever you see the memnoniella you are sure to see this very close beside it. This spread harmful toxins that are dangerous to humans and is able to cause asthma, headaches, and cancer. You can usually find this on the back of walls and underneath ceilings.
Mucor
This is a common type of mold that can be seen in the soil and animal droppings. It is able to live off of dust and will greatly affect those people who have weak immune systems. This will induce infections in the lung when someone has been exposed to it for long periods of time.
Alternaria
This is another type of allergenic mold that is similar to Penicillium. It can be found in the soil and on plants. When you breathe this mold in it may induce asthma symptoms, hay fever, and other types of allergies.
